Lodestar, founded in 2012, is in its fifth year acting as a coverholder for RSA Insurance group. It provides P&I cover for vessels up to 40,000 gross tons and can also offer limits of liability up to USD 1 billion.

Lodestar’s results indicate steady annual premium income of USD 30 million – despite three underwriters departing for another rival insurer in 2016.

Underlying security of up to USD 500 million is provided solely by RSA. For limits above USD 500 million security is provided by Lloyd’s syndicates and insurers.
