The Charterers P&I Club has offered Charterers Liability and complementary covers since 1986. It is managed by Michael Else and Company, a managing general agent with 40 years of experience in marine insurances.

It can provide Charterers Liability and Defence covers up to limits of USD 500 million and USD 5 million respectively.

The claims department is comprised of 15 claim handlers, including maritime lawyers, based across offices in London, Dubai and Shanghai.

The annual premium income has reduced from USD 34 million to USD 29.5 million. For the last year, it announced approximately 14,000 vessels insured on behalf of 300 clients.

Underlying security is provided by Great Lakes Reinsurance (UK) PLC, a subsidiary of Munich Re,the global reinsurance company.
